Rule Yourself

I love this quote from Ray Allen's letter to a younger version of himself.

When you walk in the door, the receptionist looks at you and says, “Ray? What … what are you doing here?”

“I couldn’t sleep.”

“But … you just won the title.”

“Yeah, I just wanted to get out of the house.”

“But … it’s eight in the morning. And you just won the title.”

“Well, I still got some work to be done on this tooth. Is he in?”

Your dentist walks out of his office.

“Ray? What are you … what?”

“Couldn’t sleep.”

Yesterday was the Zeroth launch. We had loads of investors come. We had great press coverage from Tech in Asia and BeSuccess. I was extremely honored that mentors and investors came from New York, Estonia, Switzerland, and Singapore to help support. I was up to midnight thanking them.

But this morning I was up at 6:15 AM. It was dark and cold. But I had a 7:30 AM meeting and a new day.

It's what you do in the dark that puts you in the light
