The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.
But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Rainbird chairman James Duez this past Thursday. Over a few drinks we talked about growing up with hardship (for me losing mom at 16), gaining control over our lives, and making decisions that ultimately put us where we are today. We recounted our path, talked about who helped us, and wondered who else would need help.
More importantly, we're thankful for detaching the negativity and finally realizing that the hardships made us who we are. And subsequently, we are aligned to the philosophy of giving first, to give back what we had been given.
Thanks for sharing your story James.
