I just touched down in Amsterdam after a Cathay flight. During the flight, there was one moment that stood out in memory.
On one side, I was listening to Frank Sinatra belting out My kind of town, of which the subject of the song is where I received my undergraduate degree. On the other, I was doing deep self-analysis looking over flight map over Tartu and Helsinki, and recalling how I used to have this thrill of flying with my family and love of airports.
The coincidence of these two seminal experiences struck me as refreshing. It's nice to be able to find events that remind of the delightful past, then to self-examine why they were delightful. I think the key to youth, freshness, and inspiration comes from thinking of those memories, linking it to the current, and constructing a new future.
